Mixtape Review- Fonzerelli Dibiase "Postcards From Jupiter"

Fonzerelli Dibiase "Postcards From Jupiter" Mixtape Review
"We Wish You Were Here"

"Postcards From Jupiter" is the debut mixtape from up and coming 217 artist Fonzerelli Dibiase. With 14 songs in total, featuring fellow artists Tatted Lee and Young T, Is "Postcards From Jupiter" worth the read? Lets see... shall we...
Production: 7 out of 10

Now as many of you know... I am a pure Hip Hop fan at heart. I don't listen to much local music because 80% of MCs locally are "Trap" rappers. From the moment I pressed play and listened to "The Meaning" which sampled a snippet from "Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone" I knew that this was going to be something different. And this mixtape didn't disappoint. The production of this mixtapeis literally out of this world. It literally sounds like with each track that you are traveling through space with the top down. The most notable track is "Get Away", the production on this track is flippin crazy (The woman singing the hook makes it hauntingly good)

Lyrics: 6 out of 10

Although the production on this mixtape is nice... I can't say the same about the bread of butter of any mixtape... The lyrics. Minus a couple of stand out tracks ("FAN", "Bars", and "Get Away"), it seems like Fonzerelli Dibiase is just trying to fill time on this mixtape. One song in particular "Tell Em" literally sounds like he is saying the same thing over and over and over for 3 minutes straight. (Nothing wrong with that actually... Mos Def has a song entitled "There Is A Way" which only has two sets of lyrics to it. However, that song has a meaning to it). "FAN", "Bars" and "Get Away" lyrically are the stand out songs on this mixtape... He says some very witty things in these tracks... And goes completely Ape S--t on "Bars". I just wish that the time and energy he put in this three songs he put into the rest of his tracks. But it's enough to get you by.
Is It Worth The Purchase/Download?
If you want to hear something different as far as production goes, then yes. The production for the most makes you feel like you listening to a TDE project. If you want something to pregame to while getting ready to go out and kick it with your people... then you definitely won't  be dissapointed with this mixtape. However... if you are looking for something to listen to that has some type of substance to it. Then you are only going to download this mixtape for "Get Away".

Album/Mixtape Of The Year?

If someone placed it in the category... I wouldn't be mad at it. However, this project doesn't offer enough to actually take that title.
Final Verdict: 3.75 out of 5
